Our researchers make QUEST a true Centre of Excellence. QUEST places a strong emphasis on the promotion of staff, the education of graduate students through a structured graduate programme and on equality policy within its structures.
Working for QUEST is a challenging activity. The financial and organizational background of QUEST allows our researcher to develop and implement new ideas, to take active part in learning and teaching schemes, to acquire and exchange interdisciplinary experiences.
QUEST members take part in:

  • Seminars and lectures organized regularly at the PTB, Leibniz Universität Hanover (LUH) and TU Braunschweig. Some examples are: Research in QUEST - Lecture series: From String Theory to Geodesy, HALOSTAR  - a coordinated PhD programme of LUH, lectures  on Foundations of Metrology - Methods of Metrology at International Graduate School of Metrology IGSM in Braunschweig,
  • Summer/ winter schools, conferences, workshops and scientific meetings like "DPG Tagung", "Laser-Tag" (for updated information refer to the page QUEST at LUH),
  • International exchange programs with other metrological and scientific institutions.

Since QUEST has been allocated at the PTB, about 15 new employees and students have started to working here for QUEST. For details see the staff information within the individual groups. We are still looking for motivated students interested in completing here master´s or PhD thesis as well as for some Post-Docs. For details see our updated Jobs-Infos.

Some long-term PTB staff members are also involved in QUEST tasks as Principal Investigators or Participating Researchers. Their cooperation with QUEST groups and mentoring of young researchers strengths a scientific output of the project.
